The high peaks of Lahaul Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh have received fresh snowfall during the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, a yellow alert of rain and snowfall has been issued for 5 days. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), there will be rain-barfi in the state till March 16.

In Shimla, the weather remains clear since this morning. The IMD has still issued a yellow alert of rain and snowfall in five districts Mandi, Kangra, Una, Hamirpur and Bilaspur. The next tomorrow, Yellow alert has been warned in all the districts except Lahaul Spiti and Kinnaur. During this period, heavy snowfall in high areas, strong rains in medium and lower areas can run thunderstorms and storms.

Warning in 6 districts on Holi

Yellow alert has been issued in Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur districts on Holi day i.e. 14 March. Warning has been given in Mandi, Kangra, Una, Hamirpur and Bilaspur for 15 March.

Western disturbance will weaken on March 17

On March 16, there is a possibility of rain and snowfall in most parts of the state. Western disturbance will weaken on 17 March. On this day, the weather will be clear in the rest of Himachal, except for high areas.

Temperature rises before rain snowfall

The temperature has risen considerably before the rain-barfi on the mountains. The average maximum temperature of the state is 2.2 degrees above normal. The temperature of Bilaspur has risen the highest 5.2 degrees and the mercury here has reached 29.7 degrees. Solan’s temperature has reached 27.2 degrees with 4.4 degrees higher than normal and Shimla’s temperature also reached 20.2 degrees Celsius with 4.4 degrees higher.
