A major accident took place on Sunday on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi in Jamnagar, Gujarat. During the immersion of Ganesh statue, one person and his two sons drowned in the pond. All three died on the spot.

Accident occurred during statue immersion
According to the information, on Sunday afternoon, Pritesh along with his sons went to the pond for immersion. During immersion, all three went into deep water and could not get out. On receiving the information of the incident, the Fire Brigade team of Jamnagar Municipal Corporation (JMC) reached the spot and started the rescue operation.
After much effort, the bodies of the three were recovered. Local police said that the bodies have been sent for post -mortem. There is a wave of mourning in the entire area after this accident. Family members are in a bad state.

The Jamnagar Municipal Corporation had arranged a special pool in the city for immersion of Ganesh statue and appealed to the people to use this facility instead of open water sources.
