Gujarat’s Vadodara Police has arrested a 12-member interstate theft gang. The gang had committed 25 incidents of theft in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa. This gang had committed 5 thefts in Vadodara. This gang was a master in stealing laptops and goods from cars and used to steal with slingshot. All 12 members of the gang are residents of Trichy, Tamil Nadu. Police have also seized 17 mobile phones, laptops and stolen goods worth Rs 10 lakh from this gang.
Gang used to target expensive cars
Vadodara JCP Leena Patil said that this gang used to target expensive cars and steal with slingshot. Last year, this gang had also come to target the cars of the guests attending Anant Ambani’s pre-wedding ceremony but could not commit theft due to tight security. The families of all the people in this gang have been involved in theft incidents for generations.
Theft was done from cars in Shirdi
This is the third generation of gang leader Jagan Balasubramaniam who is involved in theft incidents. There is an engineer in this gang who is an expert in breaking and dismantling stolen electronic parts. Some time ago, this gang had also committed a major theft in Yatradham Shirdi. The police is still investigating how many other people are associated with them and who are still away from the police.

According to Bijnor Police, all the arrested accused used to work together to cut stolen vehicles. Three of them used to run garages in Uttarakhand, while two used to steal vehicles and take them there. Then everyone together would dismantle the vehicles, disassemble them and sell them as scrap.
