Ranya Rao Gold Smugggling Case: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has intensified the investigation in the gold smuggling case associated with Kannada actress Ranya Rao. The officials searched in Bengaluru to gather important information. During the investigation, on Tuesday (March 11, 2025), the house of officer Ranya Rao, Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) office and reached the hotel where Ranya was married.
According to sources, the CBI was closely checking Ranya Rao’s wedding footage and the list of guests, to identify those who participated in this wedding and gave expensive gifts to Ranya. Investigators in the case were focusing on establishing relations between Ranya and expensive gifts, especially on establishing relations, so that relations with smuggling case could be revealed.
High-profile people also investigated
This investigation has moved beyond Ranya Rao, the authorities here also investigated the possible relations between high-profile people and smuggling operations. A team from the Delhi CBI unit is leading the investigation, in which the officials are also collecting detailed information on the land approval from the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIDB), suggesting a comprehensive investigation into potential financial and regulatory irregularities.
Notice to protocol officials posted at the airport
The CBI has also issued a notice to four protocol officials posted at Bengaluru Airport in the gold smuggling case related to Kannada actress Ranya Rao. These officers appointed by the state government have been tasked to facilitate the arrival of people, politicians and VIPs coming to the state. As part of the investigation, officials have been called for questioning. Investigators are also finding out whether there was any omission or potential collusion in the airport’s protocol system, which helped the smuggling network.
Hearing on bail plea
Meanwhile, the bail plea of ​​Ranya Rao is under hearing in the special court. Before the court proceedings, the investigating officer of the Revenue Intelligence Directorate (DRI) will reach the court. The court had earlier directed the officials to file objections on the bail plea and are expected to register their objections during the hearing of the DRI on Wednesday (March 12, 2025).
