New Delhi. When a batter is out without scoring a batter in a cricket match, it is called ‘Duck’. But this duck is used by such different names that many times cricket fans get confused about what they mean. For example, 5 players from India were dismissed without opening an account against England. But with all this, different words of Duck were used. Such as Golden Duck for Siraj and Silver Duck for Jaspreet Bumrah. Karun Nair and Sai Sudarshan were dismissed on zero and the normal duck with his name. After all, why the words of all these players i.e. Duck have a whole history. Come, know how many types of ducks are there in cricket.
2. Silver Duck: If the batter is out on the second ball of the innings, then it is called silver duck. Jasprit Bumrah was out without scoring only 2 balls in the second innings against England.
4. Diamond Duck: This is the most unfortunate duck. If the batter is out without playing a ball, it is called Diamond Duck. It is also called Platinum Duck. Often this happens with the batter that runs out or timber outs.
6. Pair: If a batter is dismissed at zero in both innings of the test match, it is called ‘Pair’. Jasprit Bumrah made a pair of 0 in the first Test match against England.
8. Laughing Duck: When a batter is dismissed on zero on the last ball of the match and with this the team’s innings ends, it is also called Laughing Duck. The famous Krishna made the same duck against England.
9. Normal Duck: When a batter is out at 0 after facing more than 3 balls, it is called a normal duck i.e. it is not given a different name. India’s three batters were victims of normal duck against England. These included Karun Nair, Sai Sudarshan and the famous Krishna.
