Government initiative to approve 10 lakh homes under PMAY G Scheme for rural development in India

PMAYG Scheme: The Ministry of Rural Development has set a target of approving 10 lakh houses for the year 2024-25 under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G). The ministry discussed the progress of this scheme and the upcoming action plan in a meeting on Wednesday (January 1). The objective of this scheme is to provide permanent and secure housing to the economically weaker sections in rural India. The ministry also said that monthly targets will be set to ensure timely and effective implementation of all rural development schemes.

This scheme is playing an important role in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of a poverty-free India. Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, while sharing his views on the social media platform ‘ Are.” He also said that the schemes of the Ministry are committed to bring change in the lives of the people and efforts are on to extend the benefits of these schemes to all the needy in a transparent and time bound manner.

10 lakh houses will be approved by January 2025

According to the official statement of the ministry, special emphasis will be laid on sanctioning 10 lakh houses by January 2025 and releasing the first installment to the beneficiaries. This scheme will work to improve the standard of living in rural areas and ensure permanent housing for the poor. Under this, an action plan will be prepared every month to ensure timely implementation of all the schemes. This will not only speed up the progress of the schemes but will also ensure transparency.

Goal of self-reliant and poverty-free villages

The main objective of government efforts is to make rural areas self-reliant and create poverty-free villages. This initiative has been taken to provide benefits to the beneficiaries as soon as possible under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin. The impact of this scheme will not only be limited to residential facilities but it will also stimulate the rural economy and improve the standard of living.
