Government will buy 1,868 Rough Terrain Fork Lift Truck for all three armies, know specialty

The Ministry of Defense has tied up with ACE and JCB India to supply 1,868 Rough Terrain Fork Lift Truck (RTFLT) to the Army, Air Force and Navy. These vehicles, which are available at a cost of about 697 crore rupees, will be helpful for the three armies in various campaigns related to war. Apart from the war zone, these vehicles can also be used to bring and carry logistics.

The contract was signed on Thursday (20 February 2025) with both companies. A total of Rs 697.35 crore has been signed for the purchase of Rough Terrain Fork Lift Truck (RTFLT). Defense Secretary RK Singh was also present on this occasion. Rough Terrain Fork Lift Truck (RTFLT) is an important tool, which will help in moving huge amounts of logistics and military goods from one place to another. Thus, the Army, Air Force and Navy will increase the operational effectiveness.

These contracts will increase national defense equipment manufacturing capabilities. The project has immense potential for direct and indirect employment creation by encouraging the MSME sector through manufacturing of components. This purchase is an important step towards modernization of India’s defense infrastructure and empowering indigenous industries, which will be a glorious flag bearer of self -sufficient India.

The central government also approved a major and important project of Rs 1,220 crore on Thursday itself. The deal has been made keeping in mind the needs of the Indian Coast Guard. Under this deal, the Coast Guard will get state -of -the -art software defined radio. These state-of-the-art radio will provide safe and reliable information exchange, cooperation and status awareness through high-speed data and safe voice transmission.
