US President Donald Trump’s close and Deputy Chief of the White House accused India of imposing heavy tariffs on American goods and cheating on the US immigration system. He said that India is giving financial help effectively to Moscow in Ukraine war by purchasing oil from Russia.
‘India cheats in immigration policies’
According to a Stephen Miller, Deputy Chief of the White House Deputy Chief of Staff, Trump very clearly stated that it is not acceptable for India to fund this war by buying oil from Russia. He said that it is surprising that India is especially associated with China by buying oil from Russia. Stephen Miller alleged that we also know that India is very cheated in immigration policies, which is very harmful for American workers.
‘Great relationship between PM Modi and Trump’
In an interview to Fox News, he said, “President Trump wants a great relationship. He has always been a great relationship with India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but we have to think really to deal with the funding of this war (Russia-Ukraine). We have a diplomatic, financial and other ways to teach the war going on in Ukraine so that we can find peace.”
America angry at having better relations with Russia
This statement from the Trump administration came only a few days after imposing 25 percent tariff on Indian exports. The White House has also threatened India to take action on continuing the purchase of oil from Russia. US President Trump targeted India last week for joining BRICS and maintaining better relations with Russia.
