Jatin Hawakari, husband of Kannada actress Ranya Rao arrested in the gold smuggling case from Dubai, has got a big relief from the Karnataka High Court and directed the DRI officials not to make any arrests without following the instructions.
Jatin Hawakari approached the Karnataka High Court after the possibility of arrest of DRI officials. Senior advocate Prabhuling Navadgi, who appeared on behalf of the hookah in the court, argued that Jatin had no connection with the allegations against his wife and has cooperated in the investigation.
Jatin hookheri gets relief
The advocate was told to the court that there was a possibility of arrest without following the instructions of the Supreme Court. Considering this, the High Court ordered that no arrest should be made without following legal processes. This order of the High Court has brought relief to Jatin Hawakari.
Order to investigate protocol violation
Earlier, the Karnataka government had ordered an inquiry into the role of actress Ranya Rao’s step Father and IPS Ramchandra Rao in the alleged protocol violation case at Kempe Gowda International Airport in Bangalore on 10 March.
According to the government order, Additional Chief Secretary Gaurav Gupta has been appointed to check the misuse of protocol facilities at the airport. The government has ordered two separate investigations to find out the security lapse and the possible involvement of the policemen.
In addition to the investigation of DGP rank IPS officer Ramchandra Rao, who is the Chairman and Managing Director of Karnataka State Police Housing and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited, will also investigate the involvement of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) policemen.
CID will also investigate negligence in duty
Earlier, CID Bengaluru was entrusted with the investigation of possible negligence in duty by the police constables posted at the airport, as some police personnel may have helped the actress in the protocol violation. Due to which Ranya Rao was successful in smuggling gold.
The CID will find out in its investigation whether the police officers had removed the actress from the security post without the correct screening. In the order, all the concerned departments have been ordered to fully cooperate in the investigation of CID.
