The fashion show in Gulmarg was held on 8 March.
Controversy over the fashion show held in Gulmarg, Kashmir on March 8. On Friday, the Srinagar court issued a notice against the fashion show photoshoot directors, the Chief Editor of Elli India Magazine and the models participating in the show. The order was given by the First Class Judicial Magistrate Faizan I. Nazir.
The order stated in the order- the complaint was investigated. It was revealed that the complainant has demanded action against the three accused. Allegations have been made of violation of Section 296, 299 of BNS and Section 50-A of Jammu and Kashmir Excise Act, 1958 for organizing fashion shows. The show displayed obscene and inappropriate materials.
The order states that now this court will listen to the favor of the accused before taking cognizance in this case. The accused are given notice to appear in the court through registered post. The case will be heard on 8 April 2025. The accused should appear in the court.
Actually, many models walked the ramp on ice in the fashion show. Whose pictures are viral on social media. Local people have accused of hurting religious sentiments. People say how the government can allow such fashion shows to be organized in Ramadan. CM Omar Abdullah has also protested in the case.

Abdullah had said- it was a private event. Permission was not taken from the government. Whatever I saw, it should not have been held at any time and especially in the month of Ramadan. Officers have been asked to investigate. If necessary, the police will take action.
The show was organized by fashion designer pair Shivan and Naresh. Shivam-Naresh apologized for catching the case. He wrote on social media- During the holy month of Ramadan, the purpose of our show in Gulmarg was not to hurt anyone’s feelings. We respect all cultures and traditions.

It is condemnable that private hotel businessmen are allowed to promote such obscenity through these events, which are completely opposite to our cultural values. The government cannot run away from responsibility by stating a private matter.
Omar Farooq, President of Hurriyat Conference: this is so embarrassing. A porn fashion show was held in Gulmarg in the holy month of Ramadan. Seeing the photo-video, anger spread among the people. How can it be tolerated in the valley known for Sufi, saint culture and deep religious perspectives of people? Action should be taken against the people involved.
