Abu Katal, the most wanted terrorist of Lashkar-e-Taiba, was murdered in Pakistan on Saturday night. He was the most wanted terrorist of NIA, who was involved in several terrorist attacks in Kashmir. He was very close to Hafiz Saeed, the Mastmind of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack.
Abu Katal was murdered last night at eight o’clock last night in PoK’s Jhelum. Unknown assailants fired on Abu Katal, in which he died. He was sitting in PoK and conducting continuous attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.
Hafiz Saeed gave the responsibility of carrying out a major attack on Jammu and Kashmir to Abu Katal. Hafiz made Katal the Chief Operational Commander of Lashkar. Katal used to get orders from Hafiz, after which he used to carry out major attacks in Kashmir. He was the mastermind of the rich attack on June 9. He was a major headache for all security agencies including the army.
Rajouri attack and NIA charge sheet
Abu Katal was named in the Chargesheet of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for his involvement in the Rajouri attack of 2023. On January 1, 2023, there was a terrorist attack in Dhangri village of Rajouri, after which an IED explosion also occurred the next day. In which seven people died while many were seriously injured.
Regarding this attack, the NI had registered the names of three handlers of terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba in its charge sheet, which were identified as Saifullah alias Sajid Jatt alias Ali alias Habibullah alias Numan alias Langda alias Naumi, Mohammad Kasim and Abu Katal alias Katal Sindhi.
During the investigation, it was found that on the instructions of Abu Katal, the terrorists got logistic help. After the Reasi attack, the terrorists were given food, shelter and other types of logistic help in Dhangri for about three months.
Mastermind of Reasi attack
Let us tell you that on June 9, the bus of pilgrims returning from the Shiv-Khodi temple of Jammu and Kashmir Reasi was attacked by the terrorists, a mastermind of that attack was also Abu Katal Singhi. Apart from this, Abu Katal was also considered the mastermind of many major attacks in Kashmir. The NIA blamed Abu Katal in the 2023 Rajouri attack.
According to NI investigation, the three had planned to recommend attacks in Jammu and Kashmir and recruit Lashkar-e-Taiba militants to target security personnel.
