Mountaineer Arun Kumar hoisted the tricolor on the high peak of Ladakh.
Arun Kumar, a mountaineer of Kohla Palasadi village of Jol Suppad Panchayat of Nadaun area of Hamirpur, has achieved another achievement. He has hoisted the tricolor on Mount Kang Yastay, 6400 meters high of Ladakh.

Arun reached Leh on 24 June. Due to high altitude above sea level, he stayed in Leh for 14 days and made his body friendly to the weather there. After this, while traveling hard, he reached the base camp of Kang Yastay Mountains. He faced cold winds and adverse weather during the journey.

Tricolor hoisted by reaching the peak in the morning
On July 13, at 8:30 am, Arun reached the peak and hoisted the tricolor. He said that earlier in 2024, the tricolor has also been hoisted on 7075 meter high Mount Snopanth. His goal is to hoist the tricolor on the highest peaks of all the seven continents of the world.
Father retired from army
According to Arun, it is difficult to climb icy mountains during the day. Due to sunlight, the snow starts melting, so the climb of the inaccessible mountains is done at night. His father Raj Kumar is retired from the army and mother Archana Devi is a housewife. His elder brother is currently serving in the army.
Santosh Kumar, Deputy Principal of Jol Sapad Panchayat said that the entire panchayat is proud of Arun’s achievement. The panchayat will respect him when he returns to his home.
