The joint secretary of the department said that the incidents of thunderstorms were recorded in West Champaran, Bhojpur, Jehanabad, Kishanganj and Arwal districts. Of these, two people died in West Champaran, one in Bhojpur, one in Jehanabad, one in Kishanganj and two in Arwal. At the same time, the death of one person in Vaishali, Rohtas and Muzaffarpur districts has been confirmed by excessive rainfall and thunderstorm.

Government announced compensation
The state government has announced financial assistance expressing condolences to the families of the deceased. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has instructed the officials that the dependents of the deceased should be given a grant of four lakh rupees immediately. This amount has been provided to the family of the deceased in Bhojpur district within 12 hours, while the process of payment of compensation in other districts is going on.

According to the Disaster Management Department, incidents of falling trees, power failure and damage to huts in rural areas have also come to light due to sudden weather malfunction. In many districts, farmers working in the fields were hit by thunderstorms, due to which some have been injured. The injured have been admitted to local hospitals, where they are undergoing treatment.

Meteorological department released alert
The Meteorological Department has issued alert for heavy rain and lightning for the next 24 hours in many parts of the state. The department has advised people not to take care while working in open grounds or fields, do not stay under trees and exit the house.

Such incidents often occur during the last round of monsoon in Bihar, but this time there was more intensity of thunderstorms with thunderstorms. In the last few weeks, dozens of people have died due to thunderstorms in different parts of the state. The government has instructed the district administration to remain vigilant and provide all possible assistance to the affected families.
