Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has suffered a setback from the Allahabad High Court. Now a case will be tried in the Varanasi court in the commentary case against Sikhs. Nageshwar Mishra filed a petition in Varanasi’s Magistrate Court against this statement of Rahul, but the court rejected. He then filed a petition again in MP/MLA Court, which was accepted by the court on 21 July 2025.
Rahul had filed a petition in the High Court against the decision of MP/MLA court. The court reserved the verdict after the debate was completed on 3 September.

Rahul wrote that there is no crime against him under the law. Section 208 of the Indian Civil Protection Code (BNSS) for the alleged crime outside India provides that no such crime can be investigated or heard in India without prior approval of the Central Government.
