Two people died in a horrific road accident in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh in the early hours of Sunday. The accident occurred when a large tanker filled with liquid carbon dioxide uncontrolled and fell into the river, breaking the railing of the roadside bridge. The accident was so severe that the front part of the vehicle was completely damaged and the driver and cleaner got stuck in it.
Accident on Afzalgarh -Kashipur highway
According to the police, the accident took place on Afzalgarh -Kashipur road at around 2:30 am. It was told that the tanker was at high speed and suddenly uncontrolled and slipped from the road. The tanker broke the railing of the culvert and went straight into the river. As soon as the accident was reported, the local people reached the spot and informed the police. After this, rescue work was started.
The team of police and fire departments hardly cut the cabin of a gas -filled tanker with the help of gas cutters. After several hours of effort, the bodies of the driver and cleaner trapped in the cabin could be taken out. The deceased have been identified as Satpal (35) and Robin (32). Both were residents of Pipli village in Tanda area of ​​Rampur district.
Police engaged in investigating accident
Afzalgarh police station said that the bodies have been sent for post -mortem and a thorough investigation is being done in the accident. On receiving information about the incident, the relatives of the deceased were informed, after which there was chaos in the houses.
Local people say that this route is very dangerous and there have been accidents before here. There is no adequate security arrangements on the culvert, due to which the slipping of big vehicles and falling into the river is not new.
Police officials said that in the initial investigation, the case seems to be uncontrolled of the vehicle. However, it will also be investigated whether there was a technical fault in the vehicle. At present, the families of both the deceased have been assured of all possible help.
