According to Vigilance, Assistant Commissioner Bhavita Tandon had sought a bribe of Rs 2 lakh from a hotel businessman named Padam Chand to suppress a complaint. Padam Chand informed Vigilance. After this Vigilance laid a trap to catch red handed.

1.10 lakhs caught with bribe amount

According to the woven trap of Vigilance, the complainant Padam Chand today reached the Food Safety and Regulation Office Kullu with Rs 1 lakh 10 thousand, then Bhavita Tandon, who was present there, asked to give the bribe amount to Food Safety Officer Pankaj. Pankaj asked to give this money to the chapadasi present in the office.

As soon as Padam Chand caught Keshav Ram, Rs 1.10 lakh. Vigilance then detained Assistant Commissioner, Food Safety Officer and Chapadasi all three on charges of bribery.

The Vigilance team also recovered a bribe of Rs 1 lakh 10 thousand from Chapadasi in the presence of both the officers on the spot.

Bribe was sought to suppress notice

It is being told that Bhavita Tandon had issued a notice from the complainant in the case of keeping the wrong brand papad and unprotected cooking oil in her hotel. Bhavita Tandon sought a bribe to suppress this notice.

The complainant was issued a notice issued under the Food and Safety and Regulation Act, 2011 on November 28 last year.
