At the same time, traffic jams are caused by frequent landslides between Mandi-Manali. Hundreds of vehicles were stuck in jam overnight. These include tourists in large numbers.

According to the Meteorological Department, rain is forecast in most parts in the next 6 days (from 23 to 28 August) in the state. During this time many areas can be heavy. It is a matter of little relief that yellow alert has been issued instead of orange in fresh bulletin.

Today, seven districts of Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Mandi, Shimla and Sirmaur have issued a yellow alert of heavy rains. The next tomorrow i.e. on August 24, Mandi, Shimla and Sirmaur district are Yellow alert in Sirmaur district on 25 August.

On August 26, strong rains have been warned in Kangra, Kullu, Mandi and Shimla districts. During this time people have been asked to be vigilant, not to go around landslide potential areas and river drains.
