The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert of heavy rain in 6 districts Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Kangra, Una, Mandi and Sirmaur districts today. Chamba, Kullu and Shimla today have rain an orange alert.
In view of the conditions of heavy rains and the conditions of roads and streets, today’s holiday has been done in all educational institutions of Shimla, Sirmaur, Solan, Kangra, Mandi, Chamba, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Una and Kullu, Banjar, Manali and Kullu sub-divisions. Educational institutions will also be closed on 2 September in Kullu.
Due to heavy rains, 4 national highways and more than 800 roads including Chandigarh-Manali Fourlane are closed for traffic. Of these, more than 600 roads have been blocked for a week. Due to this, people are facing problems.
