Hindi mandatory in Maharashtra canceled, why did the government withdraw the decision?

The Maharashtra government has canceled its decision to make Hindi mandatory from the first grade. The government has withdrawn the notifications that make Hindi compulsory and the Chief Minister has announced to form a committee. The government bowed under pressure from the opposition, after which the Mahamorcha to be held on July 5 was canceled.
