Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has reiterated his old stand against the imposition of Hindi and alleged that the central government is moving towards another language war in the three language policy. DMK chief MK Stalin has been a major opponent of the language policy of the Center. He says that Tamil and English will always run in Tamil Nadu and alleged that the BJP -led central government is trying to impose Hindi in the state.

Chief Minister Stalin said, “If the central government tries to impose Hindi, then we are fully ready against it.” He said that Tamil Nadu will only follow Tamil and English and oppose any attempt to impose Hindi. Giving an examination of the 1965 anti-Hindi movements, Stalin said that in 1965 the Dravidian movement had successfully opposed imposing Hindi.

Tamil Nadu BJP president replies to CM Stalin

On the other hand, Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai said in response to Stalin’s remarks that DMK’s language policy is hipocracy. He claimed that while Stalin claims that he does not oppose any language, students of government schools in Tamil Nadu are not given the opportunity to learn the third language, while private schools have this facility. Annamalai asked, “Does Stalin mean that if you want to learn a third language, you should enroll your children in CBSE or matriculation schools run by DMK members?”

Annamalai also taunted DMK workers who are protesting against the imposition of Hindi. “Members of your party, who are walking around with paint cans, seem to have not clarified the difference between Hindi and English in his statement.”

CM convened all -party meeting on 5 March

While addressing the media after the cabinet meeting in the secretariat, CM Stalin announced that a meeting of all parties will be called on March 5. In this meeting, the issue of census will be discussed, which fears that Tamil Nadu may lose eight seats in the Lok Sabha, due to which its population planning programs are successful.
