Honda has introduced the first two models in the company’s new ‘0’ series battery electric vehicles lineup at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2025) – Honda ‘0’ SUV and Honda ‘0’ Salon Prototype. Production ready models based on both prototypes will be launched in North America in 2026, after which they will be launched in the global market.
Honda has also introduced its vehicle operating system (OS), ASIMO OS, for use in Honda 0 Series models. Additionally, Honda has also announced an agreement with Renesas Electronics Corporation to develop a high-performance system-on-chip. Which will be used in the next generation models of ‘0’ series in the next few years.
Honda 0 SUV:
This is a prototype of a mid-size electric SUV. Which will be the first Honda ‘0’ series model to be produced based on the company’s new EV architecture. This SUV is based on the space-hub concept model showcased at CES 2024 last year. The company claims that the interior of the SUV prototype will give people a “spacey” feel.
Designed on thin, light and wise development approach, this electric SUV will be provided with many advanced features. This model is equipped with “Ultra-Personal Optimization” and ASIMO operating system. Additionally, the adoption of steer-by-wire systems has enabled integrated control of by-wire devices such as steering wheel, suspension and brakes. Which provides excellent handling. The company will start its production in Ohio.
Honda 0 Salon:
This is the flagship model of Honda 0 series. Its concept model was showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show last year. Some next generation technology has been used in it. This is a saloon car whose bold styling design can be seen in the concept model. The prototype’s low height and sporty “wedge-shaped” styling both differentiate it from other saloon models in the market. Its low-slung cabin is very special.
The production model of the Honda 0 Salon, manufactured at the Honda EV Hub in Ohio, will first be introduced in the North American market in late 2026. After that there are plans to launch it in global markets including Japan and Europe. However, the company has not yet shared any information about the specifications and driving range etc. of these two cars.
Honda Afela 1:
Let us tell you that during the Consumer Electronics Show, Honda has also launched its first electric car ‘Afeela 1’ prepared in partnership with Sony. Which is a smart electric sedan car equipped with many advanced features. Sony Honda Mobility has jointly developed this car. This car has been introduced in two different variants.
In this, the starting price of base variant Afeela 1 Origin has been fixed at $ 89,900 (approximately Rs 77.15 lakh) and the starting price of top variant ‘Afeela 1 Signature’ has been fixed at $ 102,900 (approximately Rs 88.31 lakh). The price of both cars also includes 3 years subscription for features.
