The leaders of the ruling TMC have clashed with each other over the rhetoric in the South Calcutta Law College gang rape case in West Bengal. First party MP Kalyan Banerjee made such a statement about the gang rape, which led the party to questions and the TMC opposed his MP’s statement. After this, TMC MP Mahua Moitra condemned Kalyan Banerjee’s statement without naming, in response to which he has retaliated to Mahua’s personal life.
‘Who anti -woman’
In response to Mahua Moitra’s X post, Kalyan Banerjee said, ‘Mahua came back to India after celebrating a honeymoon and has started quarreling with me! She accuses me of being anti -woman, what are she? He broke the 40 -year -old marriage and married a 65 -year -old man, did he not hurt the woman? ‘ Let me tell you last month, Mahua Moitra married BJD leader and senior advocate Pinaki Mishra in Berlin, Germany.
Kalyan Banerjee further said that he is against all women leaders in his constituency. She joined the party in 2016, much after TMC came to power, she started her politics by calling herself Rahul Gandhi friend.
‘Want to make money and future’
He said, ‘The party had asked me to campaign in the Kaliganj by -election, so I agreed. When I went to the assembly, the local MLAs told me that Mahua has said that Kalyan Banerjee should not be allowed to come to the area for campaigning. I called the CM and asked that there is no restriction on my campaigning, I told Didi, if I went, she will try to defeat the TMC candidate.

Kalyan Banerjee said, ‘An MP who was expelled from Parliament due to violation of morality is preaching me. She is the biggest anti -woman, she only knows how to secure her future and earn money. Kalyan Banerjee has given this statement after the post of Mahua, in which he criticized the statement to the TMC leader for gang rape.
Why did the dispute between the two leaders?
Mahua posted on the X without naming on Saturday and wrote, ‘Every party in the country has people hating women. What makes TMC different from the rest of the parties is that our party condemns these hatred statements, even if anyone has given such statements. Mahua posted this after criticizing Kalyan Banerjee’s statement on behalf of TMC. But Kalyan Banerjee objected to his party’s statement and said, ‘I completely disagree with the post done by TMC on X. Is the party indirectly supporting those leaders who are saving these criminals? ‘

In fact, this entire controversy started with a statement by Kalyan Banerjee in which he was questioned in the Calcutta Law College gang rape case. He said in response, ‘What can be done if a friend rapes his friend. Will police be deployed in schools and educational institutions now? The students raped another student. Who will protect her (victim)? Who does this crime and tampering? If some men do this, then against whom should women fight? Women should fight against these perverted men.
TMC has criticized Kalyan Banerjee’s statement and described it as his personal statement. At the same time, the party separated himself from his statement and said, ‘Such views in any way do not reflect the party’s thinking about the heinous crime in South Calcutta Law College. Our attitude is strong, we have a policy of zero tolerance on crime against women and we demand strict punishment for all those involved in this crime.
