On the question of contesting elections while working, Pankaj Sharma said that in 2023, the Rajasthan High Court has given a verdict in this matter. A government doctor was contesting elections in this case. The court had said that if he wins, he would go to the assembly and lose, he will return on duty.
According to Delhi Police, Sharma had given false information to the Election Commission while filing the affidavit. In his affidavit, he wrote ‘social worker’ in the ‘profession’ column.
According to the report of the Indian Express, when he was asked why he gave wrong information to contest the election, Sharma said that a government employee can also be a social worker. He said, “I have not done anything wrong. Can no government employee be a social worker? I have an order of Rajasthan High Court, in which the court has allowed a government doctor to contest elections in 2023.”
Pankaj Sharma, who lives in uniform during the election campaign, said that I had joined the job 22 years ago and stayed in special cell from 2004 to 2011. He said that in 2008, the team of Delhi Police, which took iron from the terrorists in Batla House encounter, was also involved.
