Iran has admitted for the first time that the country’s nuclear plants have suffered heavy damage in the US attack on Sunday. Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghei on Wednesday confirmed the damage to its three nuclear plants, Fordo, Natanj and Isfahan.
Talking to Qatar government broadcaster Al Jazeera, Baghai refused to give detailed information but admitted that on Sunday, America’s B-2 bombers aircraft carried out major attacks using bunker buster bombs.
He said, ‘Our nuclear installations have suffered badly, this is a clear thing.’
After the 12 -day battle between Iran and Israel on Wednesday, the ceasefire is seen to be held, which now seems that there may be a peace agreement between the two countries. However, Iran has clearly stated that it will not leave its nuclear program under any circumstances.
The ceasefire came into force on Tuesday, the 12th day of the war between Israeli and Iran, but even then the two countries accused each other of violating it, but on Wednesday, the attack of missiles, drones and bombs finally stopped.
What did Trump say about the ceasefire
US President Donald Trump helped in the ceasefire and on Wednesday he told the media during the Neto Summit in the Netherlands that the ceasefire was going on very well. Trump said about Iran, “He cannot have a atomic bomb and he will not even promote uranium to make bombs.”
Iran, however, has emphasized that it will not leave its nuclear program. A bill related to stopping cooperation with the United Nations Atomic Monitoring Institution (IAEA) in Iran’s Parliament has also been approved. This organization was monitoring Iran’s nuclear program for years and now Iran has made it clear that it will not cooperate with the institution.
Prior to voting on the bill, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Kalibaf criticized IAA that the institution also refused to condemn the attack on Iran’s nuclear installations’.
Kalibaf told the MPs, “For this reason, Iran’s nuclear power organization will keep cooperation with IAEA until the safety of nuclear facilities is ensured, and Iran’s peaceful nuclear program does not move at a fast pace.”
