Jansuraj leader Prashant Kishor is trying to be associated with the students’ movement despite the blanket controversy. The students’ movement also has the support of Tejashwi Yadav and Pappu Yadav. The agitating students are demanding cancellation of the BPSC i.e. Bihar Public Service Commission examination.
The government has canceled the examination, but only at one centre. And, the update is that the exam is going to be held there again on 4th January.
Prashant Kishor, who came under attack for being harassed from the spot before the water cannon and lathicharge on the agitating students, and bullying him into giving blankets, seems to have recovered from the controversies – and now he is with the students. They are going to sit on strike, which Prashant Kishore has already announced. Prashant Kishore has given an ultimatum of 48 hours to the Bihar government to fulfill the demands of the students.
Prashant Kishor is currently targeting Nitish Kumar on the pretext of students’ movement, but since the beginning of Jansuraj campaign, he has been targeting Tejashwi Yadav by calling him the ninth failure – The thing to note is that Nitish and Tejashwi are going to face trouble. Loss directly means profit for BJP.
1. BJP’s gains in Bihar Assembly elections depend on the impact of Prashant Kishor’s campaign.
From the very beginning, Prashant Kishore has been reaching out to every village and telling the people of Bihar how they have been cheated in the governments of Lalu Yadav and Nitish Kumar.
Prashant Kishor has been explaining to the people that whatever the leaders did, they did it only for their own benefit. Nothing was done for the children of the people of Bihar.
In fact, Prashant Kishor tells the people that they should form a government of people’s rule, only then Bihar will change. The number of votes that Jansuraj’s candidates have received in the by-elections for the first time is not less – but there is also no guarantee of victory in the coming elections.
Prashant Kishor himself may get an ax in his own foot by offering a blanket, but BJP may definitely get some benefit from his campaign.
If they instigate some youth also against Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav, then BJP standing as an alternative will definitely take advantage – but how much? This is the biggest question right now.
2. One thing is sure, Nitish’s weakening is beneficial for BJP – but this also applies only if Nitish Kumar remains in NDA. Otherwise, if we join the Grand Alliance, we will increase its strength, and BJP will keep watching.
Strings are being thrown at Nitish Kumar. Tejashwi Yadav is saying that the doors have been closed for Nitish Kumar, but Lalu Yadav is giving the message that the doors have never been closed for Nitish.
Chirag Paswan weakened Nitish Kumar for the benefit of BJP in the 2020 elections, and currently Prashant Kishor is doing almost the same thing.
3. BJP will also benefit from the division in Tejashwi Yadav’s vote bank. Prashant Kishor is already targeting the Muslim community – if Muslim votes are divided then RJD is sure to suffer – and if this happens, BJP will also get direct benefit.
4. The only problem for BJP is that it is a partner in Nitish Kumar’s power. But, the strategy is that BJP itself should take the credit for the good things, and put the responsibility of the mistakes on Nitish Kumar – In the situation changed by Prashant Kishor’s campaign, if BJP presents itself separately from Nitish Kumar, then it will definitely be in profit.
5. Who is the face of BJP in Bihar? If seen from BJP’s side, the picture is still not clear.
After Nitish Kumar left NDA in 2022, Amit Shah had said that BJP will have its own Chief Minister in 2025. And, then it was also told that after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, BJP will declare its CM candidate, but due to the return of Nitish Kumar in 2024, everything changed.
Recently, Amit Shah had hinted at implementing Maharashtra formula in Bihar also, but due to pressure from Nitish Kumar, Bihar BJP has said that Nitish will remain the leader of NDA – the only difference is that BJP Parliamentary Board. The decision is yet to come.
