How to Protect from Heat Wave: Fast summer havoc continues throughout North India, including the capital of India, Delhi. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for the next two days for some areas including Delhi. In this, people have talked about being vigilant and keeping themselves safe from heatwave because small negligence can also be fatal in this season. On Monday, the maximum temperature in Delhi reached around 44.6 degrees, which is 3.4 more than the average temperature of this season.
Some guidelines have been given to avoid the heat wave on the official website of the National Disaster Management Authority. Here we are telling you about the same guidelines so that you can protect yourself from this scorching heat and heat waves.
Guidelines to survive from heat wave
1- Try to keep yourself safe in this season to avoid going out in the sun, especially between 12 noon and 3 pm.
2- Drink as much water as possible even if you are not feeling thirsty.
3- Wear light clothes, light colored clothes, loose and cotton clothes. While going out in the sun, you must wear glasses, umbrella/hats, shoes and slippers.
4- When the outside temperature is high, then avoid going out and walk exercise or walk.
5- Always keep water with you while traveling and keep drinking in between.
6- Avoid alcohol, tea, coffee and carbonated drinks. These drinks dehydrate the body.
7- Avoid eating high protein foods and do not eat stained food.
8-If you have to stay in the sun or work in compulsion, then use a hat or umbrella and tie a cloth soaked in water on your head, neck, face and limbs.
9-If you feel unconscious or sick, see a doctor immediately.
10-Drinks made on homes such as lassi, torani (rice water), ORS, lemonade, buttermilk, butterbet, which help in hydrating the body.
11- Try to keep your house cool. Keep the windows closed during the day and leave it open at night so that the cold air can come inside at night.
What to do when there is heat stroke
1- Heat stroke is also called sun stroke. In this, human body temperature increases significantly. If a person becomes heatstroke, then lying in a cold place or in the shade. Wipe his body with a wet cloth or add water to the body again and again. Pour normal temperature water on the head. The purpose of doing this is to reduce body temperature.
2-Give ORS to drink or give lemon sorbet/torani or whatever drinks available immediately, this will give immediate hydration to the body of a person suffering from this.
3- Take the victim to the hospital immediately and if needed, get him admitted because the heat stroke can also be very dangerous.
