Oval Indian captain Shubman Gill believes that a bowler with capacity and skill like Mohammad Siraj is the dream of every captain. Gill also termed the 2–2 equality as ‘the right direction’ in the level of cricket shown in the five-Test series against England. With 754 runs and four centuries in the series, Gill, who was the best player of India’s series, praised Siraj, who won nine wickets in the match at the Oval, India won and the series equally. Gill said, “When you have bowlers like Siraj and famous, the captaincy looks easy. I think the way we reacted today was fantastic. We were confident, yesterday, we knew that they were under pressure. Gill said, “We wanted to make sure that it was in the whole series.” This was very satisfactory, my goal was to become the best batsman in this series and it is very satisfactory to reach there. This is always a matter of solving things technically and mentally, they are connected. Gill admitted about his maturity as a batsman in this series that it was satisfactory. When asked about the learning from the six -week series, he said, “We never give up.”
