During the discussion on the Waqf Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha, there was a strong debate. MPs of all opposition parties including Congress, Samajwadi Party openly opposed this bill and termed it against the Constitution. During the discussion on the bill, Congress MP from Saharanpur in UP said that if the government wants to give something to Muslims in Saugat-e-Modi, then give this bill to us.
Opposition of non -Muslim members in board
Imran Masood said that Baba Saheb worked to protect our rights in the Constitution. The government is taking away this right by bringing a waqf bill. He said that those who draft it are not aware of it, there is not a single Muslim scholar in the committee. He said that on behalf of the board of different states, it was told in front of the Sachar Committee that there are so many properties that the government has occupied. After this law is implemented, the claim of Waqf will end. Out of 14 thousand in UP, 11500 acres of land has been declared government, including mosque, Imambara, cemetery.

The Congress MP said that 10 out of 22 will be Muslims in the Waqf Board, but 12 members will become non -Muslims. The entire majority will be of non -Muslims. He said that people of non -religion will be allowed to join the trust of another religion. The chairman of the Kashi Vishwanath Trust is District Magistrate, but it is written that if non -Hindu is, the officer below it will be the chairman of the trust.
Opened the path of cases on property

Reacting to the bill in the Parliament complex, Imran Masood said that a property is brought under the purview of Waqf so that the income from it can be used for the poor and destitute people. But the government is going to loot this through the bill. He said that 78 percent of the property in UP was disputed through this bill and by the time the dispute over it, the government will have the right. There is no deadline for when the dispute will resolve.
‘Add me to Ram Mandir Trust’
The Congress MP said that out of 22 members of the Waqf Board, there will be more than 12 non -Muslims, what would they know about Waqf. If a person gave a property to Waqf in the presence of two men during his last breath, then it will not be accepted, because the government is now recognizing only the written Waqf through this bill. Objecting the decision of the board non -Muslim members, Imran Masood said that I am also a descendant of Ramji, include me in the Ram Mandir Trust. He said that someone should say that I am not a descendant of Ramji, I am also ready to prove this.
