Aamir Khan has reacted criticism on his famous song ‘Khambhe like Khadi Hai’ by film director Sandeep Reddy Wanga. Aamir admitted that women were introduced as an object in this song. And he also took responsibility to promote such content at the beginning of his career.
Aamir apologizes
There have often been songs in Bollywood where the heroine or women have been objected. One such song was also performed by Aamir Khan. The song ‘Khambhe like Khadi Hai’ from his famous film ‘Dil’ has been given as its exam. Aamir himself also believes that this song was not right. Then no one used to think so deeply.
Talking to Zoom, Aamir self -determination on his old decisions and told that now he has become more sensitive than before. He said- I did that, and I liked it at that time. But later it was understood that it was not right. If I make a mistake, I have no problem in apologizing. I also think that in the early stages of my career, I did many such things which were not right, like showing women like objects.
“In that song … women were really compared to things. I probably compared that girl to at least 25 different things. This is not a good thing. “
Sandeep had targeted Aamir
It is known that, Sandeep Reddy Wanga raised the issue of this song when Aamir’s X-Wife Kiran Rao gave his opinion on how to show women in the film Animal. Kiran had directly questioned the ways of objecting women and the thinking of Wanga. In response, Wanga mentioned some old and controversial scenes of Aamir’s films.
However, this is not the first time that Aamir has accepted that he made a mistake by doing songs or films that objected to women. He has mentioned this in his chat show Satyamev Jayate long ago. Madhuri Dixit was in the lead role with Aamir Khan in the film.
