‘I am Tamil Nadu’s son, ready to apologize 100 times’, Dharmendra Pradhan said amid controversy over Hindi

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan responded to the discussion on the functioning of the Ministry of Education in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday and said that I am the son of Tamil Nadu. If anyone is hurt by my statement, then I am ready to apologize 100 times. & Nbsp;

He said, Lord Jagannath is at the top of our Oriya society. The kings of Puri are like a living deity for us. He is married to the queen of Kanchi. That is, my mother is from Tamil Nadu. I am the son of Tamil Nadu. Kanimozhi is like my sister. Mother and sister status are at the top in our society. & Nbsp;

He attacked the new National Education Policy (NEP) on the Tamil Nadu government’s stand and accused him of creating an ‘atmosphere of fear’, claiming that she is not doing anything to promote Tamil in the state. & Nbsp;

He stressed that the central government is not imposing any language on any state and claimed that Tamil language is declining in Tamil Nadu government schools and colonial language is increasing.

Pradhan said, ’67 percent of students in the state are now in English medium schools, while enrollment in Tamil medium has come down from 54 percent (2018-19) to 36 percent (2023-24). Tamil enrollment in government aided schools has declined by 7.3 lakhs, which shows this change. ‘

He called for the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government to support multi -languageism as per global needs and appealed to think about the interests of the students of the state before deciding on the implementation of NEP.

Responding to discussion on the functioning of the Ministry of Education in the Rajya Sabha, Pradhan said that the country wants to make Tamil Nadu a development engine. He said that the youth of Tamil Nadu should not be denied the opportunity to move forward and they are ready to face any personal attack of the DMK government.

The minister said that students are rapidly selecting English in the state and the Tamil Nadu government is questioning the need for three-language formulas. Pradhan said that his government does not need a certificate about his commitment towards Tamil language.

He said, ‘Nobody is imposing anything on anyone. This is a democratic society and the demand of the hour is that you have to be multilingual. He said that he is proud of Tamil, which is an ancient language. He also asked the state government what objection he has to NEP.

He said, ‘I am proud of Tamil language. What is your opposition to NEP? It is advocating that the medium of education up to class 5 should be in Tamil language. We are promoting Sangs and this is our understanding of Tamil language. ‘

He said that Tamil language is falling down and colonial language is increasing in government schools in Tamil Nadu. Pradhan urged the state government not to deprive the youth of NEP and said, ‘Do not create an atmosphere of fear. Nobody is imposing anything on you. ‘

He said, ‘Tamil should be Tamil in Tamil Nadu. It is in NEP. I am not against English. The student has to go to the international market. They should learn and understand English because we have to compete globally. ‘

He said, “But for critical understanding, the mother tongue is primary and it is the primary pretext of National Education Policy. Mother tongue -centered education is necessary till the fifth grade and this is said in NEP. ‘

He said that according to NEP, it depends on the students to choose the Tamil language as per their choice after the eighth grade.

He said, ‘I am not able to understand that those who are advocating two language formulas in Tamil Nadu, Tamil language is falling in their own government schools and colonial language is increasing. This is a dangerous thing… Do not create an atmosphere of fear. Nobody is imposing anything on you. ‘

Pradhan said that his intention is not to hurt anyone. He said, ‘I appeal to my Tamil Nadu colleagues to let them abuse me personally, today the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has said that PM Shri means Sanskrit … We have to take India to new heights and we will take the country forward under Tamil Nadu."Text-Align: justify;"Attacking the DMK government, he said, ‘You cannot fool the people of Tamil Nadu. I want to create opportunities for the youth of Tamil Nadu. Do not be so small. Please come out of old ideas. We all have to create a new country. ‘

Later in a post on ‘X’, Pradhan said that ‘DMK’s latest should be the latest and its stance on the three-language formula of NEP on imposing language."Text-Align: justify;"> He said, ‘Opposition of NEP 2020 has nothing to do with Tamil pride, protection of language and culture, but everything to gain political benefits.’

He said, “DMK advocates promoting Tamil language. But the truth is that he has very little reduced to promote and preserve Tamil language, literature and literary symbols. ‘

It is to be known that there is a conflict between the Tamil Nadu government and the Center to implement the proposed triple formula in the new National Education Policy and Policy.

Pradhan created a ruckus in the Lok Sabha on Monday, saying that the state government is ‘dishonest’ and accused it of taking a U-turn on the issue of implementing the PM School for Rising India (PM Shri) scheme.

DMK members accused Pradhan of insulting Tamil Nadu and on this he withdrew his comment.

The concerned state has to sign a memorandum with the Central Government that it will implement the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and in return the Central Government will provide funds.

Pradhan said on Tuesday that he maintains his statement about Tamil Nadu’s ‘U-Tur’ on implementing NEP.

He said, ‘We do not need to take certificates from anyone whether we are committed to Tamil language or not … The truth is always the truth but pricks some. The truth is always bitter. ‘

Pradhan said that the Central Government has decided to set up 50,000 Atal Tinkering Laboratory in the next five years.

He said that in the coming time such laboratories will be established on the basis of population on the basis of proportion.

He said, “One of the major recommendations of NEP is how to see India’s legacy and culture. But we do not want to impose anything on anyone. We have the mandate of the people how we should look at the legacy of our country. ‘

He said that certificates and degrees have their own importance, but capacity and skills are also important. Pradhan said that India is a multilingual country.

He said that education and skill development will have to work together and prepare a roadmap to fulfill the aspirations of children in the country.
