During the five -match series against England, it was disappointing for Karun Nair to fail to turn a good start into a consecutive consecutive start to convert a good start into a big innings.
When asked about failing to make a big score against England, Nair told ‘PTI’, “There was nothing (losing wickets after a good start). It was not that I was trying to prove anything. You know, sometimes it happens that you get a good start in most matches and then you get out in some way.
Nair, who returned to the national team after almost eight years after scoring runs in domestic cricket, scored 205 runs in eight innings of Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at an average of 25.62. He scored the only half -century (57 runs) at The Oval ground during this period. Nair started well with a score of 40, 31, 26 and 21 besides this half -century innings, but he failed to convert these innings into a big score.
