‘I will not take any government post after retiring, CJI BR Gawai made a big announcement

Supreme Court Chief Justice B.K. R. Gawai said on Friday (July 24, 2025) that he would do consultation and mediation after his retirement and would not accept any government posts. He is the late TR in Amravati District and Sessions Court. Gilda Memorial was speaking at the inauguration of the e-library.

Chief Justice Gawai said, ‘I have announced on many occasions earlier that after November 24, I will not accept any government post. I will do the work of consultation and arbitration. Please tell that Chief Justice Gawai will retire on November 23, 2025.

Chief Justice attended the father’s death anniversary program

Gawai, in his native village Darapur in Amravati, his father, former Governor of Kerala and Bihar R.S. A tribute paid tribute to Gawai’s tomb on Friday (July 24, 2025). The Chief Justice along with his family members attended the father’s death anniversary program in his village.

Gawai also laid the foundation stone of the grand gate to be built on the way to Darapur village. The name of the entrance is R.S. It is named after Gavai, who was lovingly called Dadasaheb Gavai.

Chief Justice was strongly welcomed in the village

Earlier, people strongly welcomed him when the CJI reached the village. The Chief Justice has decided that he will not hold any government post after retirement, but he wants to give more time to his family and his home area.

BR, who took oath as Chief Justice of Supreme Court on 14 May. Gawai is the second Dalit Chief Justice. In 2003, he was also associated with the Bombay High Court for some time and in 2019 he took over as a judge of the Supreme Court.
