The United Nations’ nuclear monitoring organization ‘International Atomic Energy Agency’ (IAEA) has called back its team from Iran, as Tehran decided not to cooperate with the organization after a 12 -day struggle with Israel and America. The International Atomic Energy Agency said in a post from its X handle that its employees had returned to the headquarters in Vienna, Austria.
The IAEA further stated in its post that its director Rafael Grosi emphasized the importance of talking with Iran to resume the monitoring and verification of its nuclear program. However, it is not clear how many IAEA employees have left Iran. The IAEA team was in Tehran during the recent war between Israel and Iran. Here, the United Nations said in a statement that the international nuclear power agency recalled its team from the country due to security concerns amid a growing deadlock with Tehran.
Let us know that this war started on 13 June when Israel targeted Iranian military and nuclear sites. Many senior military commanders, top nuclear scientists and many citizens of Iran were killed in the Israeli attack. In response, Iran carried out missile attacks on Israeli cities, in which Israel suffered a lot of life and property. US President Donald Trump claimed that Iran’s nuclear program had suffered a lot in this air strike. There was a possibility of Israeli and Radiation leaks after Israeli and American airstrikes at Iran’s Fordo, Natanj and Isfahan nuclear sites. However, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) had clarified that no evidence of radiation leaks has been found at these three nuclear sites. Iran has said that it is still committed to the Nuclear Non -Proliferation Treaty (NPT), but has made his growing mistrust towards the IAEA.
