Hardoi Cyber Police Station of Uttar Pradesh has arrested an accused who used to cheat the women officers by pretending to marry, calling themselves an IAS officer. The accused has been identified as Harikesh Pandey, who is a resident of Bhagwanpur Mufarid village in Pratapgarh district.
Police say that the accused made a fake profile on Shaadi.com and described himself as a joint magistrate posted in Hardoi. He pretended to be married to a female officer working in Unnao and made an excuse for not getting salary and transferred Rs 1,23,253 online from him.
Police arrested fake IAS
After some time, the accused told the female officer that his transfer has gone from Hardoi to Kasganj. This made the female officer suspicious and when she investigated, it was found that there is no joint magistrate in Hardoi. After this, he lodged a complaint with the cyber police station.
During the investigation, the police came to know that the accused had cheated a woman officer in Lucknow in the same way. The police arrested him and recovered a fake IAS appointment letter, PAN card, passbook and a photo edited with DM Hardoi from him.
Has cheated many women
Hardoi SP Neeraj Jadaun said that the accused had formed a fake ID in the name of his disabled brother Mukesh Kumar Pandey. He cheated about 2.10 lakh rupees from the female officer. The police have found many fake documents from the accused, which made it clear that he is a vicious thug. At present, the accused has been sent to jail and the police is investigating his other crimes.
