The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) said on Sunday (July 20, 2025) that it had killed Bashar, the commander of the Development and Projects Department in Hamas’s weapons construction department in Gaza. Thabet was accused of leading arms manufacturing and research.

According to IDF, terrorists’ tunnels, bunkers and infrastructure facilities have been demolished in Gaza. The Israeli Air Force (IAF) attacked around 75 terrorist bases, including military bases and tunnels. IDF wrote on the social media platform X, “Commander Bashar Thabete of Hamas’s weapon construction department has been abolished. He was engaged in research and development work to increase weapons stock.”

Humanitarian crisis deepened in Gaza

At the same time, the human crisis in Gaza has deepened. According to Al Jazira’s report, 115 Palestinian citizens were killed, including people trying to get 92 relief and 2 civil defense workers. More than 200 have been injured. Gaza Health Ministry said that 18 people died of hunger in the last 24 hours. In Dir Al-Balah area of Gaza, the Israeli army has warned people to vacate the area by dropping pamphlets. The human situation in Gaza is getting very bad and many countries have appealed to restore peace again.

Protests intensified in many countries

On the other hand, protests against Israeli siege in Tunisia, Iraq, Turki, Morocco, Lebanon and West Bank’s Ramalla have intensified. Israeli Foreign Minister Gidon Saar has refused to increase the visa of a senior human officer of the United Nations. The reason has been told that the officer had said to use starvation in Gaza as weapons.
