England’s ODI team captain Harry Brook has praised Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant. He said that Pant is one of the best batsmen in the world. This statement came before the second Test of Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, which is going to start from 2 July in Edgbaston, Birmingham. In the first Test, where Brook scored a strong innings of 99 runs in the first innings, Pant surprised everyone on English land by scoring two centuries (134 and 118 runs).

What did Harry Brook say on Pant

Harry Brook said in a media conversation, ‘When he bats, everyone turns on the TV. His batting is worth seeing. According to me, he is one of the best batsmen in the world. While Pant is seen struggling with his white ball form, he has confirmed his place in Test cricket. Returning after a long break from the injury, Pant has scored three Test centuries and broke several records, including Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s records.

Pant’s recent Test innings have benefited him in the ICC Test batsman rankings. He has now come up one place to reach the seventh position and has become the second best ranked Indian batsman after Yashasvi Jaiswal (fourth place).

Pant’s century, but India’s defeat

In the first Test, Pant’s two magnificent innings could not win India. England achieved a huge target of 371 runs in the fourth innings and took a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.
