Union Home Minister Amit Shah, on Saturday (October 4, 2025), denied the possibility of interaction with the Maoists in any way and said that he should surrender and participate in the development of Bastar. Shah, while addressing the program of Bastar Dussehra Lokotsav, 2025 and Swadeshi Mela held at Lalbagh Parade Ground in Jagdalpur, once again reiterated the resolve to eliminate Naxalism from the country till 31 March, 2026.
He said that on the strength of weapons, security forces will give a befitting reply to those who disturb the peace of Bastar. Addressing the people of Bastar region, Shah said, ‘I want to tell all tribal brothers and sisters to explain to the youth of your village to lay off. Put that arms, come to the mainstream and participate in the development of Bastar.
State and central government dedicated to the development of every Naxal-affected region- Shah
Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, ‘Some people talk about talks, I make it clear once again, both our governments- Chhattisgarh and Central Government- are dedicated to the development of every region- Bastar and Naxal-affected every region, what to talk, we have made a very seductive surrender policy, let us give up. If you worked to disintegrate the peace of Bastar on the strength of weapon, then our armed forces will answer it. The date of March 31, 2026 is decided to bid farewell to Naxalism from the land of this country.
Naxalism is the biggest obstacle for development of Bastar- Shah
The Union Home Minister described Naxalism as the biggest obstacle for the development of Bastar and expressed confidence that by next year the problem will end. Shah said, ‘This morning I saw and worshiped Danteshwari Mai. At the feet of the mother, it has been prayed that on March 31, 2026, give strength to our security forces to free the entire Bastar region from red terror.
Some people had spread confusion for many years- Shah
He said, ‘Some people in Delhi spread confusion for years that the birth of Naxalism is a fight for development, but I have come to tell the tribal brothers that the whole of Bastar was bereft of development, development has not reached you, its root cause is Naxalism. Today, every village of the country has been provided with electricity, drinking water, road, toilets in every house, health insurance up to five lakh rupees, five kg free rice and your paddy to 3100 rupees (per quintal). But Bastar is left behind.
More than 500 people put weapons in a month- Shah
Shah said, ‘I want to assure you today (Prime Minister Narendra) on behalf of Modi ji that after 31 March 2026, Naxalites will not be able to stop your development. Will not be able to stop your rights. A lot of work has been done, a lot of work is left.
He said, ‘I have also come to appeal to all of you that children who are misled by misleading, are from your village, explain to them to put weapons and come in the mainstream. The Chhattisgarh government has formulated the best surrender policy in India. More than 500 people have given up arms in a single month. All people should give up arms. As soon as your village is Naxalite free, the Chhattisgarh government will give you one crore rupees for the development of the village. No one will benefit from Naxalism.
What did Union Home Minister say on organizing indigenous fair,
During this time, Shah requested everyone to adopt indigenous items and said, ‘Today, Swadeshi Jagran Manch has also organized Swadeshi fair here. Our Prime Minister has also emphasized the use of indigenous goods. Swadeshi Jagran Manch has been running a mass movement of Swadeshi for many years. Now Modi ji has told everyone that in every house, it has to be resolved that only things made in the country will be used in my house.
He said, ‘Every businessman has to take a pledge that nothing made from abroad will be available in my shop, inside my shopping mall. Today I have come to tell that if the population of 140 crores imbibes Swadeshi’s resolve, then no one will be able to stop our India from becoming the highest economic system in the world.
The Center launched a lot of schemes for the upliftment of tribals- Shah
Shah said, ‘PM Modi has given great relief to mother and sisters across the country by reducing taxes (GST) in 395 items. Only five percent of GST has been kept in daily use things. The Union Home Minister also informed about the work being done by the Central Government for the upliftment of tribals.
He said, ‘The BJP government has started a lot of schemes in honor of the tribals. The biggest thing is that for the first time our leader Narendra Modi has done the work of putting tribal’s daughter, sister Draupadi Murmu for the first time. When His Majesty Draupadi Murmu ji meets the heads of state around the world, then not only the tribal society but our heart is filled with pride.
He said that Prime Minister Modi worked to celebrate the 150 birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda as a tribe pride. Shah said, ‘Our Narendra Modi has done more than the families of Naxalites who surrender in seven districts of Bastar division and those who have been killed in Naxalite violence, our Narendra Modi has done more than 15,000 Prime Minister’s houses fixed for their families.’
The Center gave Rs 4,40,000 crore in 10 years for the development of the state- Shah
He said that the central government has given about four lakh 40 thousand crore rupees for the development of Chhattisgarh in the last 10 years. The Union Home Minister earlier offered prayers at the Maa Danteshwari Temple in Jagdalpur and participated in the traditional event Muria Darbar to be held under the world famous Bastar Dussehra festival. In the Muria court, Shah interacted with priests and leaders of tribal community.
During the program, Shah released the 20th installment of the state’s Mahtari Vandan Yojana and transferred an amount of Rs 606.94 crore to the bank accounts of 65 lakh women. He also launched the Chief Minister Rural Bus Service Scheme for tribal dominated Bastar and Surguja divisions.
Chief Minister gave address in the program
In his address, the Chief Minister of the state Vishnudev Sai said that under this bus service scheme, 250 villages will be included and 34 buses will be run on 34 routes. He said that under this scheme, the state government will compensate the loss to bus operators. During this, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, members of Sai cabinet and senior leaders were present.
