The Election Commission on Sunday (17 August 2025) has responded to the allegations leveled by Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha on Sunday (17 August 2025). Chief Election Commissioner Dnyanesh Kumar said, “If there is any idea that by giving a PPT which is not the Election Commission figures. To give such wrong figures and to say that this polling officer has said that this woman has voted twice. The Election Commission should not work on such a serious subjects without affidavit.”

Targeting Rahul Gandhi, the Chief Election Commissioner said bluntly, “The affidavit will have to be given or apologize to the country. There is not a third option. If the affidavit is not received in seven days, it will mean that all these allegations are baseless.”

Chief Election Commissioner Dnyanesh Kumar said, “The largest voter list, the army of the biggest election personnel, the number of the highest voting people and to say in front of all the media that if your name is once more in the voter list, you must have voted twice and committed a legal crime. After so many allegations, the Election Commission should not be calm.
