A new revelation was revealed in the incident of rape at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) campus in Kolkata. The victim’s father said that his daughter has not been raped. She fell unconscious by falling from the auto. The father claims that the daughter has filed a complaint under pressure from someone.

The incident took place on 11 July. According to the victim’s complaint, he is a counselor by profession. The accused called him a hostel for counseling. He was raped by drinking intoxicating substances there. Police arrested MBA Lost Year student Mahavir Toppannavar alias Parmanand Jain. He was sent to police custody by 19 July.

1. The victim bid: fed pizza, then fainted as soon as he was drinking water The victim told in her FIR that she had gone to the hostel for counseling. Both were acquainted on social media. On reaching the hostel, the accused offered him a pizza at lunch. Then she fainted as soon as she drunk water. Then came to consciousness and it was found that I was raped. The accused also threatened that if someone told about this, serious consequences would have to be suffered.

2. The victim’s father said- daughter does not even recognize the accused

The victim’s father denied rape allegations in a media interaction on Saturday.

I have talked to my daughter. He said that no one harassed him or misbehaved with him. I have got my daughter back, she is fine. The man who has been arrested has no relation with him. I have not been able to talk more to him. She is sleeping. The father said that his daughter was asked to write something as a complaint at the police station, and she also wrote.

3. The mother of the accused said- My son will not do such dirty work The mother of the accused said, we received a call from her friend at around 11 pm. He told us that my son has been detained and does not know the reason. We do not know why our son has been arrested. We want to meet our son and talk to him. My son is innocent. He has come to study so far. He will never do such dirty work.

The mother of the accused said in a conversation with the news agency ANI that her son has not done any wrongdoing.

4. Lawyer said- Defense arguments, consent Kolkata Police lawyer Sorin Ghoshal told the media that the defense had filed a bail petition and claimed that all this happened with consent. We argued that no, prima facie investigation shows that the crime was committed and the medical report contains evidence of excesses from the victim.

IIM Calcutta said- Zero tolerance policy here IIM Calcutta Director in charge Sable Chattopadhyay said in a statement that the college is collaborating with the police and is our zero tolerance policy against such incidents.
