A 26 -year -old student studying in IIT Bombay committed suicide by jumping from the building of the hostel late on Friday night. The victim, Rohit Sinha, a resident of Delhi, was a fourth year student of Meta Science at the institute. The incident allegedly occurred at around 2:30 am.
Police engaged in investigation
According to Mumbai Police, “The student jumped from the roof of the hostel building. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.” The police further said, “When Rohit jumped, another student living in the hostel was calling on the roof. A report of accidental death has been registered at the police station. The police is currently investigating the cause of suicide.
