Shimla’s daughter Damini Singh Brar has created history by achieving the All India Rank (AIR) 1 in the IIT PhD entrance exam of India’s difficult exams. She will now do PhD in Psychology from IIT Kanpur.
Damini Singh Brar has topped both the written examination and interview in IIT Kanpur, where she will now continue her doctorate. Along with this, Damini Singh Brar has set an extraordinary journey from top institutions in India to educational corridors. Apart from this, Damini also passed the entrance examination in Nimhans, Bengaluru, one of the most prestigious institutions in India for mental health and neurological science, he was invited for interview after being successful in written round.
Study without coaching 12th topper, DU-TISS
He passed the UGC-NET in psychology in his first attempt in December 2024. He has received a master’s degree in Applied Psychology from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (Tisses), Mumbai, which is considered one of the leading social science institutes in India. She has graduated in English Honors from Lady Shri Ram College for Women of Delhi University. Earlier, there was a board topper of class 12 in Shimla. Damini Singh Brar told that he never took any guidance, coaching or tuition for all these examinations.
Damini used to study only 2-4 hours
Damini told that she could not study all day, through just one thinking, he has traveled here by studying at home for 2 to 4 hours daily. To maintain concentrations for studies, she used to work like yoga, walking with friends, going on walk.
Father is a sanitary inspector, mother housewife
Damini Singh Brar says that if there is strong will power and confidence, then the world is in your steps. No work is difficult. He did not tell his inspiration to any one person. She says that every person helped her in difficult times and worked to give new inspiration. His family is an ordinary family, the father is serving as a sanitary inspector in the Municipal Corporation, while Damini’s mother Meera Brar is a housewife.
