The monsoon in the country has stayed at the Mumbai-Chhattisgarh border from May 29. All states except south and northeastern states are getting scorching heat. There is an alert of heatwave till 14 June in 9 states including Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh.
Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and Delhi have a red alert of heatwave. The temperature can go above 45 degrees at most places on Friday. In these states, nights will also heat up along the day. The day temperature in 9 districts of Haryana can reach 48 degrees Celsius.
On the other hand, the Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in Karnataka, Goa, Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Odisha, West Bengal, Sikkim, Telangana and Uttarakhand.
