PM Modi’s visit to Maldives will be completed today i.e. today. On the 60th independence anniversary of Maldives, Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined the capital Male as a guest of honor, which was a strict message for the whole world including China. PM Modi met several top leaders of Maldives on the second day of his visit, including Vice President Hussain Mohammad Latif, former President Mohammad Nasheed and People’s Majlis (Parliament) President Abdul Rahim Abdullah.
Mohammad Mujju mentioned India’s role in the development of Maldives. He said, “We all have seen how India has helped Maldives before. There is no doubt that India will be a very important partner later.”
Maldives Tourism and Environment Minister Thorik Ibrahim said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Maldives has taken place at the right time. He said, “PM Modi has come as Chief Guest on Maldives’ Independence Day. It is a symbol of deep partnership between India and Maldives.”
Mohammad Mujju gave the slogan of India Out in his election campaign and after taking office, he also worked in this direction. The Maldives received the Beijing Belt and Road Infrastructure Funding and the China-Maldives Free Trade Agreement was signed in January 2025. In such a situation, the involvement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the chief guest in Maldives’ Independence Day is indicating an attempt to establish a new diplomatic relationship.
