The incident of abducting a 15 -year -old minor girl in Puri district of Odisha has shocked the entire state. After battling life and death for two weeks, the girl died on Saturday at AIIMS Hospital in Delhi. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed deep condolences on this incident and said that despite all efforts, the girl’s life could not be saved.

Actually, this gruesome incident took place on the morning of 19 July, along the Bhagwati river in Puri district. According to the information, the victim was returning home to meet a friend, when three unidentified people stopped her on the way, kidnapped and set fire to her by putting flammable substances. The victim’s mother had made this allegation in the FIR lodged at Balanga police station.

70 percent of the victim’s burnt victim first Pipili Community Health Center. Then Bhubaneswar was admitted to AIIMS and finally Delhi AIIMS. He was performed two surgery and skin grafting during treatment, but could not be saved. On Friday, the police recorded the victim’s statement in the presence of a magistrate at Delhi AIIMS.

Chief Minister Majhi expressed mourning

Apart from Chief Minister Majhi, Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Dev and Pravati Parida, Leader of Opposition and BJD President Naveen Patnaik have also mourned this incident. The Odisha police, while condoling in a post on X, said that the investigation is in the final stage and no other person has been found involved in the investigation so far. The police have appealed to the people not to make any sensitive remarks on the matter.

Meanwhile, Odisha Congress chief Bhakta Charan Das has demanded the arrest of the accused, calling the incident ‘Kali Saturday’. He warned that if the accused are not caught in seven days, they will surround the DGP office. Let me tell you that this incident happened when a 20 -year -old student in Balasore district recently committed self -immolation after being fed up with sexual harassment. Such incidents that have been constantly revealed have raised serious questions about the safety of women in Odisha.
