Seven members of the gang allegedly cheating have been arrested by promising to send the youth abroad through a fake marksheet in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Vikram Dahiya told reporters here, ‘This gang mainly targeted the youth of Puranpur and Madhotanda areas. They were charged by promising to travel abroad. Police have recovered seven mobile phones, three laptops, a car, more than 60 fake educational certificates and cash from the gang members.
Demand of 20 lakh rupees for sending abroad
In fact, Gurpreet Singh, a resident of village Veerkheda, has filed a report accusing four people of cheating at Madhotanda police station. According to Singh, the fraudsters had demanded Rs 20 lakh to send his younger brother Pawandeep Singh abroad. He said that he had initially paid Rs 5 lakh as an advance amount with necessary documents.

Singh alleged that the gang had also provided fake marksheets of graduation to Pawandeep, while Pawan had studied only till 9th ​​standard. In such a situation, Singh decided not to send his brother abroad. On 14 February, the accused allegedly reached his house, threatened him at gunpoint and collected the remaining 8 lakh rupees.
7 caught in raids
After investigation, police teams led by ASP raided several places related to Puranpur and Madhotanda police stations and were identified as Narendra Pandey, Simranjit Singh, Malkit Singh, Kulwant Singh, Harsimran Singh, Ravindra Singh and M Singh. The accused were arrested. They were produced in court and later sent to jail.
During interrogation, the accused allegedly cheated students with fake marksheets and other fake documents for the last five years, to facilitate visa approval and cheat students with interested students, especially Hindi-medium backgrounds or limited education students.
