‘In the preparation of the Pakistan attack, Vance said, PM Modi said- will give a befitting reply’, Jaishankar told in Parliament what happened on May 9?

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar responded to the opposition’s allegations regarding ‘Operation Sindoor’ and Pahalgam terror attack in the Lok Sabha on Monday. He said that on May 9, US Vice President JD Vance called and warned India of Pakistan’s possible attack, on which Prime Minister Narendra Modi bluntly said-‘India will give a befitting reply.’

The whole world including United Nations supported
Jaishankar said that the international community stood with India in support of Operation Sindoor. He said that out of 193 member countries of the United Nations, only Pakistan and three other countries opposed it, while the rest expressed their support. He also added that the UNSC’s 25 April statement also strongly condemned the Pahalgam attack.

Clear message given to Pakistan
Jaishankar said in Parliament, ‘It was necessary to give a clear message to Pakistan after the Pahalgam attack. If our boundaries were crossed, it was necessary to tell that its results would not be good. He also informed that India took diplomatic steps like postponing the Indus Water Treaty and closing the attic border.

Diplomacy and military answers together
Jaishankar insisted that India gave a diplomatic answer not only, but also a diplomatic answer. He said that India created an atmosphere against terrorism on international forums and clarified that India would not tolerate terrorism at all and will take every step to protect its citizens.

India did not bow down to nuclear blackmailing
Jaishankar made it clear that India did not show any inclination in front of Pakistan’s nuclear threats. He also told that India did not accept any external mediation and Pakistan was given a straightforward and strict response.

Quad, BRICS and America support
Jaishankar said that India also got support on forums like Quad and BRICS. On July 17, the US declared the ‘The Resistance Front’ (TRF) a global terrorist, who took responsibility for the Pahalgam attack. Also, the process of extradition of Tahwwur Rana, accused in the Mumbai attack, was also intensified.

Evidence of operation from satellite pictures
He claimed that the retaliation taken by the Indian Army could be certified by satellite photographs. Jaishankar said that under the Modi government, the army successfully targeted the terrorist structures of Pakistan.

Ceasefire offered from Pakistan
Jaishankar revealed that many international calls came on May 10, which told that Pakistan wants a ceasefire. India replied that if Pakistan has to talk, then make a formal request through DGMO.

No direct talk with Trump
On the allegation of the opposition that US President Donald Trump had pressurized India, Jaishankar made it clear that there was no direct communication between Modi and Trump between April 22 to 17. He told that the conversation took place only on 22 April and 17 June, that too in references other than the attack.

Amit Shah targeted opposition
During the ongoing debate in the House, Home Minister Amit Shah retaliated at the opposition and said, ‘The opposition more trusts the statements of foreigners than the foreign minister of India. This is the reason that he has been sitting in opposition for the last 20 years and will sit there even further.

Targets Rahul Gandhi too
Jaishankar also attacked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and said that he thought it appropriate to take information from the Chinese Ambassador instead of Indian agencies on the Doklam issue. He said that he went to China just to reduce stress through negotiations, not “secret agreements” or “Olympics”.

Army fully prepared on India’s borders
Jaishankar said that today the army is completely cautious and active on the borders of China and Pakistan. Taking a dig at the previous governments, he said, ‘Boundaries were ignored for 60 years, while a lot of work has been done in the last 10 years and will be done further.’

Terrorism and conversation cannot go together
In the end, he bluntly said that the challenge of cross-border terrorism is not over yet, but India’s attitude is clear-‘Autocism and conversation cannot move together, blood and water cannot flow together.’
