Population Count: An important information has been revealed about caste census and census. Sources have revealed that the government will start the census from March 1, 2027. This will be done in two stages. At the same time, the census in hilly states like Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh will start from 1 October 2026. Census will be started in 2 phases along with ethnic census.
In this, one more important question related to caste will be connected in a long list of questions asked by men and women across the country. Recently, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had confirmed that the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs has approved the inclusion of caste calculations in the next census.
To update the National Population Register (NPR), it is usually a census every ten years and it was to be held in 2021, but it had to be postponed due to Kovid epidemic. In the last census of 2011, India’s population was recorded more than 121 crores.
