Two separate cases have been filed against Social Science Professor Ali Khan Mahmudabad for making controversial remarks against women and the Indian Army at Ashoka University located in Rai Education City in Sonepat, Haryana. This action took place after his alleged objectionable comments on social media, in which he made controversial statements about women officers of the army.
The first case was registered at the Rai police station on the complaint of the sarpanch of village Jatheri of Sonepat. After this, a second case was also registered on the complaint of the chairman of Haryana Women’s Commission.
The Women’s Commission had already issued summons to Professor Ali Khan, after which this legal action was taken. The Rai police station has registered cases under several sections of the Indian Code (BNS) in both the cases.
Police arrested professor
The police have arrested Professor Ali Khan, Rai police station and now in both cases, they will try to take them on remand by presenting them in the court, so that the case can be investigated thoroughly. His social media posts, in which the army’s allegedly derogatory comments were made against women officers and women, have created a widespread controversy.
Ashoka University said in an official statement, “It has come to our notice that Professor Ali Khan Mahmudabad has been taken into police custody this morning.” We are collecting information related to this matter. The university will fully cooperate with the police and local administration and provide assistance in the investigation.
What is Ali Khan accused of Mahmudabad
Ali Khan is alleged to have made controversial remarks on social media about India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ against terrorist organizations located in Pakistan and POK. After receiving the complaint in this case, the police arrested Khan. However, AIMIM has opposed the arrest of Mahmudabad and has questioned the action.
