New Delhi. Nitish Reddy played a brilliant century in the fourth test match being played between India and Australia. Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) on Saturday announced a prize of Rs 25 lakh to young all-rounder Nitish Reddy, who brought India a comeback by scoring the first century of his career on the third day of the fourth Test match against Australia in Melbourne. This was announced by Andhra Cricket Association on the evening of 28 December.
Andhra Cricket Association President Kesineni Shivanath said, “It is a lucky day and a happy moment for Andhra Cricket Association. We are very happy that a player from Andhra has been selected in the Indian team for Test cricket and T20 International cricket. Andhra Cricket Association will give a prize money of Rs 25 lakh to Nitish Reddy as a mark of respect for this achievement.
Reddy was playing on 105 runs at the end of the third day’s play. With the help of his brilliant innings, India scored 358 runs for nine wickets in reply to Australia’s 474 runs. It remains to be seen how many more runs Team India would be able to score in the fourth day’s play and how much target it would give to Australia. An excellent innings is expected from Nitish Reddy.
