New Delhi: Indian spinner Akshar Patel was standing on the verge of creating history at Dubai International Stadium on Thursday. So far, only four bowlers of India have been able to take a hat -trick in ODI International, Kuldeep Yadav did this feat twice, but no one was able to take three wickets in three consecutive balls in the Champions Trophy.
In his very first match of the Champions Trophy, Akshar Patel was very close to taking a hat -trick, but captain Rohit Sharma dripped an easy catch in the first slip during India’s Group A match against Bangladesh.

On the second ball of the 9th over, Akshar dismissed Tanjid Hasan while scoring his first over in the match. The left -handed batsman tried to hit the flat ball on the backfoot to push the ball in the off side, but the wicketkeeper KL Rahul caught a good catch.
